Synopsis

This short film by Izza Génini follows a female travelling troubadour (or cheikhates as they are known in Morocco) who sing aïta music -  trance-like music that is a repeated call and response. The documentary follows legendary aïta singer Fatna Bent El Hocine and her troupe of singers as they travel around Morocco. 

This film is screening as part of Friday Couscous.
