Travessia (Crossing)

Synopsis

Crossing is the short film made from shattered memory, the result of the historical erasure of the black population in Brazil. Using a poetic language, Travessia starts from the search for the photographic memory of the black families and assumes a critical and affirmative posture in the face of the near absence and stigmatization of the representation of Afro-Brazillians.

This film is screening as part of Afro-Brazilian Shorts: Narratives on Memory and also The Personal Archive - Back Home.
