Vossie Kills Himself Film
Philip Nolte | South Africa 2017| Afrikaans with English subtitles | 24m | 15
Synopsis
Vossie decides to end his life in peace, surrounded by the tranquillity of the countryside, when he is interrupted by Anti, breaking serenity with uplifting chaos. A layered and deeply emotional drama with well-balanced comedy, Nolte’s film has all the necessary wit and charm to pull off a dark and emotional story. Characters reject caricature while the film manoeuvres its way around exploitation with nuance and empathy.
This film is screening as part of the Short Film Competition.
